Our groomer, Mindy, is also a veterinary technician at HVC. She is able to see things about the pets she grooms that need particular medical attention that other groomers may miss. Mindy is also able to groom some of the most unruly and difficult pets, ones that other groomers need sedatives to groom. Being a technician here, she is already familiar with most of the pets and owners we see. Call our office to schedule an appointment (386-322-0108)!

If you bring your pet for a bath once a month or more, your 8th bath is free!

Regular grooming is essential to the maintenance and well-being of your pet. A well groomed or bathed pet is more likely to be hugged and held, and our pets live healthier lives when they are touched frequently. Aside from keeping your pet smelling good and looking attractive, grooming will aid in preventing some skin irritations and parasites.

While grooming should be done consistently, the frequency to which your pet needs to be groomed will depend on their lifestyle, coat type, age and overall general health. It is recommended that long haired dogs and cats be groomed every 6 to 8 weeks to avoid matting. Matting can be very painful to your pet. Matting on a cat or dog with long hair is much like when we make our ponytails too tight; that pulling from the scrunchies or hair ties hurts our heads, much like matting hurts your pets' skin. In addition, your pet will benefit from regular brushing to remove any loose hairs and dead skin cells, rid the coat of debris and any external parasites.

Our veterinarians in conjunction with Mindy, our groomer, can assist in recommending the proper shampoos and tools for your pet's coat type. Please let us know of any special needs your pet may require while they are here with us for the day. Be sure to schedule your pet's grooming or bath appointment in advance, especially during the holiday seasons and summer months.

We look forward to hearing from you and making your pet look it's best!
