Our family at Halifax Veterinary Center has cared for the pets along Florida’s coast since 1990. We treat your dogs and cats with the gentleness, attention, and respect we’d give our own—because to us, they’re family too.
Our Story
It started with three people. In July 1990, Dr. Kathleen Bartos opened Halifax Veterinary Center alongside her husband, Lou, and their very first employee, Marylou, who is still with us today. From those early days, the practice has grown into a team of 20, with tenures ranging from less than a year to more than 30 years.
That kind of longevity says something. People stay because they love this work and the animals they care for. Over the decades, we’ve watched puppies grow gray and welcomed generations of families through our doors. Through all of it, one thing hasn’t changed: we’re a family here, and we welcome you to be part of it.
