Experiencing an Emergency?

If your pet is facing a medical emergency, knowing where to turn makes all the difference. This page is here to help you reach the right care quickly, whether it’s during our office hours or after we’ve closed.

Signs Your Pet May Need Emergency Care

It isn’t always clear when a situation is urgent. When in doubt, it’s safest to call for help. Signs that your pet may need immediate attention include:

  • Difficulty breathing, choking, or persistent coughing
  • Severe or nonstop bleeding
  • Suspected poisoning
  • Sudden collapse, seizures, or an inability to stand
  • Repeated vomiting or diarrhea, especially with blood
  • A bloated, distended, or painful abdomen
  • Straining or an inability to urinate
  • Signs of severe pain, such as crying out or restlessness
  • Trauma, such as being hit by a car or a serious fall
  • Difficulty giving birth

This list doesn’t cover every situation. Trust your instincts—you know your pet best. If something feels seriously wrong, don’t wait to seek care.

After Hours, Weekends, and Holidays

We’re closed on evenings and weekends, so if your pet needs emergency assistance when we’re not open, please seek help from one of the local veterinary emergency centers below. Each is available when we are closed.

If you do visit an emergency clinic, please ask them to share your pet’s records with us. That way, we can provide any follow-up care your pet may need once we reopen.
