Pet Grooming in Port Orange, FL

At Halifax Veterinary Center, we offer pet grooming for dogs and cats in a calm, familiar setting. Because your pet is groomed by a member of our veterinary team, they get more than a clean coat—they get an extra set of trained eyes on their health.

What Makes Our Grooming Different?

Many pets need routine grooming, and we’re happy to take the hassle off your hands. But at our clinic, grooming comes with a real advantage: our groomer, Mindy, is also a veterinary technician here.

Mindy often notices early signs of medical concerns—things like skin issues, lumps, or ear problems—that other groomers might miss.

She’s also skilled at handling some of the most anxious and difficult pets, including ones that other groomers can only manage with sedatives. And because she already knows so many of our patients and their families, familiar faces help keep the whole experience low-stress.

Our Grooming Services

We offer a range of grooming services to keep your pet looking and feeling their best, including:

  • Bathing, including routine or medicated baths, brushing, and blow-dry
  • Nail trims
  • Clipping and haircuts
  • Anal gland expression
  • Ear cleaning and plucking

Have a specific look in mind? Just let Mindy know your requests at check-in, and she’ll take it from there.

Scheduling and What to Bring

Grooming is available Monday through Thursday. To book, simply call our office at (386) 322-0108, and our team will find a time that works for you.

Because grooming takes place inside a veterinary hospital, we do ask that your pet be current on a few vaccinations beforehand:

  • Dogs: rabies, distemper, and Bordetella
  • Cats: rabies and distemper (FVRCP)

This simple requirement helps protect your pet and every other animal in our care.

Why Professional Grooming Matters

Grooming is about far more than appearances. Regular sessions support healthy skin, a clean coat, and comfortable nails, and they give a trained professional the chance to spot small issues before they grow. For pets, staying clean and well-groomed simply feels good.

The benefits of routine grooming include:

  • Healthier skin and a cleaner, more comfortable coat
  • Properly trimmed nails that support easy movement
  • Early detection of skin, ear, or other concerns
  • Less shedding and fewer mats and tangles
  • A more comfortable, better-smelling companion at home
Pairing grooming with regular wellness exams gives your pet well-rounded care from a team that knows them.

FAQs About Pet Grooming

Who will be grooming my pet?

Mindy, our groomer, is also a veterinary technician at our hospital. Her medical training means she can spot potential health concerns while she works.

What days is grooming available?

Grooming appointments are offered Monday through Thursday. Call our office to reserve a spot for your pet.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated for grooming?

Yes. Dogs need to be current on rabies, distemper, and Bordetella, and cats on rabies and distemper (FVRCP). This keeps every pet in our building safe.

Can you groom an anxious or difficult pet?

Often, yes. Mindy is experienced with pets who are nervous or hard to handle, and many can be groomed comfortably without the sedation other groomers might require.

Grooming with a Medical Advantage

Routine grooming keeps your pet comfortable, clean, and feeling their best—and when it’s done inside a veterinary hospital, it comes with added peace of mind. Our groomer’s training as a veterinary technician means dogs and cats across the region get gentle, attentive care from someone who understands their health, not just their haircut. It’s one more way we look after the pets and families who count on us.
